Marketing and Communications Manager

Job Summary

Due to continuous growth, we are looking for a motivated, creative and highly organised marketing professional to join our busy team. You will play a key role in driving awareness of the Akixi proposition, maximising engagement with service providers and resellers, and helping to attract new partners to drive adoption of Akixi in line with our go-to-market strategies.

The Marketing Communications Executive will support the delivery of Akixi’s go-to-market strategy through the development and promotion of effective marketing communications. You will liaise with a range of stakeholders – team members, Akixi employees, and external suppliers (designers, copywriters, printers, agencies, etc.) – to develop marketing communications and resources including website content, brochures and guides, blogs, eshots and email communications, advertising, social media content, videos, imagery and presentations.

This is a new position within a growing company and, as such, there is potential to develop the role and make it your own. You will also be expected to visit the Akixi office in West Sussex on a regular basis to collaborate with colleagues.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail will be key to being successful. You should have at least two years’ marketing communications experience in a B2B environment, ideally in the technology sector, and be confident writing, editing and proofreading marketing messages for different audiences and different marketing channels.

  • Coordinate the development and promotion of marketing communications including website content, brochures and guides, blogs, eshots and email communications, advertising, video content, imagery and presentations.
  • Develop and deliver email communications and eshots to a range of audiences
  • Work with the Events Executive to ensure effective event promotion (website, social media, eshots, videos, banners, adverts, merchandise, etc.)
  • Implement effective lead capture methods for online platforms
  • Copy writing and proofreading of marketing messages and assets – online and offline
  • Identify new collateral requirements to support product releases and campaigns, and liaise with the Product and Sales teams to progress their development and production
  • Ensure existing collateral is kept up to date
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to create case studies and testimonials – from identifying opportunities through to publication and promotion
  • Maximise promotion of collateral across all marketing channels including Akixi website
  • Working with the Marketing Operations Manager, optimise and maintain marketing data and mailing lists, ensuring platforms support sales and marketing processes and are GDPR-compliant
  • Review, update and segment data to ensure more effective targeting
  • Manage Akixi’s social media content and social platforms, using Hubspot for scheduling and publishing, and analysing performance
  • Liaise with Akixi employees to encourage social media amplification
  • Be an Akixi brand ambassador, ensuring internal and external application of our brand meets set guidelines
  • Responsible for branded merchandise, liaising with the Marketing Assistant to arrange artwork, manage and order stock, and organise deliveries and storage
  • First point of contact for all branding enquiries
  • Build relationships with marketing suppliers including designers, printers, copy writers, and digital agencies
  • Be proactive in identifying areas for improvement
  • Administration of marketing budget and POs
  • Keep up to date with marketing and industry trends
  • Any other duties as required

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a B2B marketing role, ideally with a comms focus
  • Strong understanding of the customer journey and buying cycle
  • Experience developing effective campaigns through segmentation and targeted messaging
  • Excellent copy writing and proof reading skills
  • Competence in marketing automation and Hubspot or a similar email marketing application
  • Recognised marketing qualification is desirable e.g. CIM
  • Experience with WordPress or other CMS
  • Organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • A good communicator, highly proficient in spoken and written English, able to translate technical product features into business benefit-led marketing messages
  • Experience of communicating to multiple audiences, ideally applying a persona-based methodology to marketing campaigns
  • An interest in technology and analytics
  • Able to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong IT skills, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Flexible and open to change
  • An understanding of GDPR in relation to B2B marketing
  • Willing to work independently and as part of a team to ensure goals are met
  • An understanding of the IT channel or other indirect business model is desirable
  • Supplier management
  • Experience in the IT/software industry is desirable
  • Good presentation skills (online and face to face)
  • Basic understanding of graphic design techniques
