Job Summary

The Finance Assistant plays a key role carrying out financial and administrative tasks on a day-to-day basis to ensure the smooth-running of the department and the wider business.

This role could suit a school/college leaver, or someone with previous work experience, looking to progress their career in a finance department role. You will be numerate, an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail and high competency in spoken and written English. This role would be suitable for someone who is diligent and very well organised with a confident nature and process driven. You will be quick to learn, keen to get stuck in, and demonstrate an understanding and interest in how business processes feed each other. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a small, friendly team with a great opportunity for the right person to progress with training and a professional qualification (AAT) and be part of a successful and growing organisation.

Order-to-Cash (O2C)

  • New customer onboarding
  • Sales quotes, invoices and credit raising
  • Sales order processing, provisioning, demo accounts and cancellations

 

Purchase-to-Pay (P2P)

  • Purchase order and invoice processing
  • Supplier onboarding, including GDPR and HIPAA compliance

 

Record-to-Report (R2R)

  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting

 

Health & Safety

  • First Aid supplies
  • First Aid training
  • Fire Warden training

 

General

  • Petty cash posting
  • Stationery orders
  • Reception (e.g. telephone)
  • Facilities duties

Essential

  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grade C or above
  • Excellent English communication skills, verbally and in writing
  • Confident nature and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to liaise well with others
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Flexibility and adaptability

 

Desirable

  • Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word
  • Prior experience working in a Finance Department
  • A-level in Mathematics, Business Studies or similar
